Artist Statement

I make work about lineage, heritage, and the fashioning of identity. I work in the Afro-Atlantic tradition aka the Black Church Grandma Aesthetic. By patching denim with bogolanfini (mudcloth), I invoke culture and heritage as the remedy for the damage of colonialism and imperialism.
